Do you love to Party? Putting together a Mardi Gras-themed costume can be fairly easy and you only need a few elements; Here's how to get the party started
This will vary of course depending on whether you're a man or a woman, and how much clothing you're willing to wear.
For women, one classic favorite is the 1920's-style flapper party dress. This can come in a variety of colors and textures, but of course green and purple are probably best. You can also try a short, modern party dress or even a harlequin-style costume.
If you're a man, you might dress in a court jester outfit, as a clown, or simply in a suit that embodies the Mardi Gras colors.
For either sex, there's also the option of dressing in ones skivvies, as is fairly common in the actual event. Just make sure that your loin cloth is in the classic colors so that people realize that it's Mardi Gras-related.
Throw in a classic Mardi Gras mask, a feather boa, and some beads, of course. You can add a personal touch by decorating your mask yourself with glitter or feathers. Make a trip to the craft store and see what you can come up with if you're the creative type. Optionally, you can also wear some kind of headgear. A party hat would certainly be appropriate.
